[TVB]Captain Of Destiny (Cheung Po Tsai)
NO SPOILERS
New dorama from Hong Kong.
During a high-speed motorboat chase with a criminal, Cheung Chau police constable Wong Tai-mui gets herself trapped in a waterspout, accidentally opening a time portal. She travels back 200 years to early 19th century Hong Kong, a time when the island was under Qing rule.
She encounters a family of Canton pirates, led by Cheng Yat, his wife
Shek Giu, and their adopted son Cheung Po Tsai. Using her knowledge of
the future, which she keeps in a E-book, she saves the pirates from a deadly naval battle against the Qing naval fleet led by Prince Man-ho, the eleventh son of the Jiaqing Emperor. Puzzled by her mysterious origins, Cheng Yat and Shek Giu remain wary of Tai-mui and are hesitant in trusting her.
This is something new from TVB and looking much better, that many other TVB shows. This one more look like a tv series or movie? what I can't say about many many previous TVB series which more lok like a cheap spectacle.
Here we can see a lot of special effects, which are nort so bad. Of course - thats not Hollywood, but.. oh well, its looking good. Its more than "ok" for some TV series from Hong Kong.
The big problem of all TVB - its extremelly boring. Boring... damn BOOOOORING.
What about Captain of Destiny? I'm on episode 9 now and its looking good and pretty fast... Somewhow I feel, they have a lot of episodes more to spoil everything, because from episode 9 we can see a lot of stupid annoying peoples in this show (for example adopted little boy...)
One more... why TVB so much love toilet humor? Favorite jokes - fart, poo, pee and vomit. Oh, sometime it spoil impression a little... For example, its just start little chemistry, and next scene he/she poo or vomit... not really fun...
Grace Chan portray a policewoman. She catch the King Bandit and accidentically meet with waterspout, which trasfer her 200 years bat to Qin dynasty.
Its extremely rare for me to like a womans characters in TV series (because annoying or stupid or ugly woman character - stamp of all tv series).
And for the first 9 eps - this character pretty good. We will see, what will happen next.
I'm on ep 21 and its still ok :) She know the future, because have a history book scaned at her e-book - so she change it as she wish... problem is... hah, we saw it at Bu Bu Jing Qing "She know future of everyone, but don't know future of herself". This girl too small person, to have any mark at history books.
Tony Hung as Cheung Po Tsai. Cruel Pirate ^_^ hah... I hate Qin serires for their stupid hairstyle. Everythng else are very good in this era.
Never though that I will like this pirate. But... I loved his voice and his charisma.
Ruco Chan as Aisin Gioro Man Ho. Noble prince. His target - destroy all pirates. And we now will have a hard choise... From one side - prince is positive character and he is a "white". He try kill all pirates, for the sea become peacefull. From other side - our Cruel Pirate is a adorable guy... but he is a pirate, so can we have a hope - that he will survive?
Everyone remember Captain Jack Sparrow... he is a pirate, we should hate him.. but everyone loved him ;p
This two looking good together. And they start as it offten happen - always argue :))) And then - they got feelings to each other. BUt, she have a problem - she is from a future and search way to back home... How can she love him?
But, we will have a triangle here. And I don't sure whom will she choise, because she say one in one time, think another in other time... Anyway - I'll don't write spoilers here about that.
A lot of comedy elements, Sure - everyone had a lot of fun while they create this series.
I'm on 13th episode now... and its getting more and more interesting. Look like soon will be much more action. Lets see, whae this series become extremely boring... ep 15th or 20th, maybe? Can't belive, that it will be so good until the end.
Yea, I was right, eps 15-17 was a little boring, but 18th have a fierse amasing battle... And even this is cartoon special effects - its looking good. Everything looks realistic (I mean emotions and actions of heroes).
And again 19-21 a little boring. Maybe thats beause I don't see anything interestin in story about merchant or emperor.
Btw, somehow - ancient TV series love to show - how stupid Emperors and that thye are puppets in hands of liars (eunuch, concubines and ministers). Emperors easily belive in every gossip and kill innosent or pinish own sons for nothing.
Oh, Btw... I loved soundtrack. Especialy love theme.
Well I finished watching... I can say for sure - it was a little boring. If only series be 5-6 eps less - everything will be awesome. But, they put a lot in second or third storylines. It can be shorten, if in true...
As I promised at begin - no fatal spoiles.
But, HK love create a lot of extreme at final on series. And same happen here.
If I say shortly about the very final ...
But... I loved this show, it was not like another many HK series. It was much much better. But, as I said too many scenes about second-third characters, too many toilet humor and pretty hard to understand the love triangle by logic.
I can give 8 stars from 10 to this series and reccomend you to watch it!
